March 1st 2008 - Indianapolis Supercross

Indianapolis marked round 9 of the 2008 Supercross schedule and round 2 of the East Coast Supercross Lites Championship. With all the excitement from round 1 in Atlanta and the suprise victory by rookie Trey Canard, round 2 was sure to keep the fans watching with anticipation during the 15 lap main event. In the Supercross class, two more factory riders were missing from the lineup for Round 9. Team Kawasaki's Timmy Ferry missed the event with a mid-week crash at his house while practicing. Ferry suffered a broken tailbone and chose to sitout this round. Also missing was Team MDK KTM's NickWey. Nick has been suffering with a severe cold for a while but was diagnosed with pneumonia earlier in the week. Nick chose to miss Indy to try to get healthy.

There were s couple of west coat Lites riders that chose to race the East coast in the Supercross class. Billy Laninovich looked good during practice until a hard crash a hard crash in the whoops. Billy sat out the rest of the night. Another rider that chose to race during the West coast break is Team Makita Suzuki's Ryan Dungey. Dungey who is currently sitting in second place just. six points back of Jason Lawrence with one race remaining.

The racing action was great all day. Both the Lites and the Supercross class kept all the fans on the edge of thier seats. Here are some photos and racing action from Indianapolis Supercross.
